¡Hola Silver Foxes!
Welcome to my class, I will teaching Spanish I, II & III.
My name is Raquel Power, I was born and raised in Venezuela, South America.
I have been teaching Spanish in the United States for the last 5 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Modern Languages, majoring in English and French and I have a Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have been an elementary, high school and college-level teacher.
Coming to the United States and being able to teach my native language has been an incredible experience because I have had the opportunity to meet people from different cultures, to learn from theirs and to share mine.
My passion for languages started when I was a teenager. My dad brought the family to Atlanta, Ga, and right at that moment I decided I wanted to study languages and be like those great teachers who motivated me to learn a foreign language.
This is why I believe and encourage my students to learn Spanish or any other language no matter how hard it can be.
When I'm not teaching, I spend time with my husband and daughter. I enjoy traveling, going out to eat and working out.
I am looking forward to this new school year! I believe every child has the potential to succeed in whatever area they choose in life.
